Come back to this module 1 when you are ready to complete forms.
Participants must complete the following steps below to earn certification:
1. Successfully complete all 15 modules of Doula Birth and Postpartum course
2. Complete the required reading; be sure to buy the latest version of each book. Also, check your local library to borrow.

The Nursing Mother’s Companion by Kathleen Huggins
The Expectant Father: The Ultimate Guide for Dads-to-Be by Armin Brott
3. Support two families either in pregnancy, birth, or postpartum. Virtual or in-person support is accepted. Support must be recent, within the 12 months prior to completing certification. (Go to the next section to complete forms when ready)
4. Interview two birth professionals in your community; such as a lactation consultant, midwife, childbirth educator, OBGYN, pediatrician, etc. (Go to the next section to complete forms when ready)
Completion
Once steps 1 to 4 above are completed then participants earn Doula certification.
Renewal Process
CPI Doula Certification is renewed every 4 years by documenting 8 contact hours and paying a renewal fee. The renewal fee is waived if all CPI contact hours are submitted.
CPI offers ongoing opportunities for contact hours through seminars and online courses.
